Townview and Sydney Building Maintenance.

Building Maintenance is such a broad and interesting field. Each building has its own unique history from design style and the style of the various trademen that put the building together. Then along the line of the various repairs, or attempts at repairs, that have shown the foot and finger prints along the line.

And you really can see it with the city buildings reaching into the centuries, old and new, we find facade systems that are both still holding up beautifully and others that present problems of corrosion, water entry and other costly issues.

Exciting news is the amount of attention being placed on eco friendly products. We have seen an evolution of new products come onto the line and along with this we have seen far superior products that those highly toxic coatings of the past. And for an applicator, that is great news for personal health.

One organisation that is following this path ruthlessly is www.greenpainters.com.au. This non profit organisation is dedicated to the testing, research and development of eco friendly products that provide high quality applications, but do not damage this world that we live in.

I invite you to browse their site and see for yourself that something can and is being done about it.

Did you know that 16.5% of Sydney's smog comes from painted surfaces. Amazing!

Let's all make the change and see if we can as a group cut the Sydney pollution levels down to at least the single figures from paint emmisions.

Help protect this precious water planet.
